This dinner located just off of the heart of Sundance Square in Fort Worth offers a selection of breakfast entrees in addition to lunch and dinner. The restaurant is in walking distance from the Worthington Hotel and has a very nice, modern, western decor. They offer counter service and full bar at brunch. The general ambiance is good offering a warm and cozy feel with a moderndeco style dinning room.
The breakfast selection was slim in comparison the rest of the menu, but did offer a fair number of combinations and choices. The prices were what you would expect in Downtown Fort Worth, averaging in the $$ range. Early morning drink specials were a plus, with $1 mimosa and blood marys!
Service was not well executed with the serving staffing overwhelmed by a large area of responsibility and struggling to keep up. Although the people seemed nice enough, attentiveness was the main issue. It appeared the server was trying to manage 5-6 tables at once, which can be hard for any good server. I usually contribute this to be an oversight by management, but floor presence from management was non-existent.
Food quality was also very disappointing. Items were not fresh, sausage and hash-browns were cooked in advance. Other items were also not cooked to specifications despite specific instruction to the server who did write them down and repeat it back for confirmation. The best part was the $1 mimosa, but the rest of the experience had ample opportunity for improvement.
Cleanliness was also sub par. DIrty tables surrounded the dinning area, along with the less than clean booth the hostess sat us at. Sugar caddy, salt, and pepper shakers were also unclean, crusted with dried food and syrup.
Although many of the issues were minor and it was a fairly nice place, it was clear that attention to detail was not a priority. Sorry to say, Cowtown ratings on Yelp and Urbanspoon were spot on.
